With March Break just around the corner our Angels are continuing to work hard to practice the Umbrella Skill of Kindness, commit to their Lenten Promises and push through their New Year goals.  The snow certainly surprised us but as you can see from the pictures, students were having a blast in the bright fresh snow.  Smiles all around!

LEARNING COMMONS

With the renovations that took place last summer at St. Michael’s we can truly say that our Learning Commons has really transformed into a place filled with idea makers, collaborators and builders.  Not only do our students go to the library to read and enjoy the company of Mrs. Starr – they love to fully engage in all that it has to offer.  The space is now much more open and we love the different spaces that we can all spread out to read a book and enjoy the comfortable atmosphere it offers!

LENTEN PROMISE

On Tuesday this week our school will be making their Lenten Confessions.  Father Peter will be at the school along with accompanying priests to receive confessions from our Angels.  We are practicing our Lenten Promises daily and students are reflecting on how they can sacrifice as Jesus did for us in anticipation of the Resurrection. What can you do to prepare your family for Jesus’ Death and Resurrection? Busted Halo is a great resource that is online that can be utilized to help explain Lent to your children. One way to prepare is to Pray the Rosary. Please click on the link below to access.

WHAT A GAME!

The gym was filled with spectators and the athletes were showing great perseverance as two teams came together to share in a fun-filled game of basketball.  Our Angels played St. Timothy School and we are happy to say that we came out on top with a score of 52-44.  The team showed great sportsmanship in a hard fought game.  Special thanks to the coaches and all those who helped volunteer to make this game happen!

COLD AND WET WEATHER

Now that Spring is around the corner, our back schoolyard is VERY wet and sloppy, even though there will still be bouts of winter weather.  The aim is to try to have the students outside in the fresh air as much as possible. Please make sure that your child(ren) has/have extra pairs of socks available and splash pants to help keep them dry. This will also help them stay comfortable for the next recess.
