Autumn has begun. Leaves are starting to turn and the staff and students of St. Michael are falling into established routines. With staff guidance, students are building stamina and remaining engaged on assigned tasks. Our staff and students are called to welcome, include and help others every day. Student work in this area is evident in our hallways, classrooms, and playgrounds. Thank you to our parents and guardians, staff and students for collaborating to make St. Michael a special place to learn and grow.

The staff at St. Michael’s would like to wish all families a very Happy Thanksgiving.  Thankfulness is important when we are thinking about others.  Being thankful for what we have helps us to recognize the work others do to serve us.  Please keep our community in your thoughts and prayers over this coming Thanksgiving weekend!

Celebration of Thanksgiving in the Home:

The celebration of Thanksgiving in our homes, schools and parishes is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the bounty of God’s goodness and love. The Offices for Evangelization and Catechesis, Liturgy and Youth Ministry at the Diocese of Hamilton has provided this resource for prayer and celebration of Thanksgiving in the home.

Student of the Month Assembly for September

Our Students of the Month for September were recognized for their authenticity here at St. Michael. We handed out certificates and each student received a new BRAG TAG!

Parent Drop Off and Pick Up

Thank you to our parent community for keeping our Kiss and Drop area a safe place for student pick-up and drop off.  Please have your child(ren) arrive at the school after supervision begins in the morning.  The safety of your child(ren) is our main concern. Furthermore, just an additional reminder that the school parking lot is closed to parents during drop off and pick up times. Please continue to use street parking at the front of back of the school. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

Self-Assessment for your child(ren)

Please ensure that a self-assessment is completed everyday before coming to school (COVID-19 school screening (ontario.ca)) to ensure the safety of our school community.

Wet Clothes:

With the wetter conditions we’ve seen over the past two weeks, many students require a change of clothes. Please send an extra set of clothes just in case your child(ren) falls on the yard and requires drier apparel.

Boomerang Lunches

To help reduce the waste at St. Michael’s we are promoting litter-less lunches. Where possible, please use reusable containers for snacks and know that any wrappers will be returning home to be disposed of. Thank you for your understanding and dedication to helping keep St. Michael’s a bit more green!

Looking forward to a wonderful weekend and great week ahead!!
